SAMSUNG FARA-N PLUS Series communication driver

 

SAMSUNG FARA-N PLUS Series(for 700, 7000 series or NX70 Series model) Communication Driver is the driver to communicate with FARA-N PLUS PLC of SAMSUNG in Korea.

 

Compatible model of SAMSUNG FARA-N PLUS Series communication driver = SPC10, N70plus, N700plus, NX7, NX70(CPU70p1, CPU70p2), NX700(CPU700p) PLC model or compatible. 

Note) When you use FARA-N Alpha series, you use DLL-SAMSUNG FARA-N communication driver.

 

1. Read settings

 

<Figure 1> is read setting example of  SAMSUNG FARA-N PLUS Series communication driver.

Device part of  <Figure 1> input Com Port(COM1), Baud Rate(9600), Parity Bit(0), Data Bit(8), Stop Bit(1) respectively, according to setting of PLC's Dip switch.

Input address and output address of FARA-N PLUS Series PLC are specified by mounting order of Input/Output card.(from left to write, R0000, R0001, ....)

Baud rate(9600 BPS, 4800 BPS, 2400 BPS, 1200 BPS,...) or other communication parameters can set by Dip switch of FARA-N PLUS PLC such as <Table 2>.

 

 

SAMSUNG FARA-N PLUS Series communication driver read schedule

Read schedule setting parameters are as follows:

1) STATION – PLC station address.

255 = 1 : 1 communication.

When RS-485 communication = 0 ~ 191.

2) Read Command – read memory type or command = R, L, M. K, F, TC, W, SV, PV, SR. (Refer to <Table 1>)

SV, PV, SR = read command of W memory type.

3) Read Start Address – read start number of memory type. (Refer to <Table 1>)

4) Save Start Address for Communication Server – saveing start address of Communication Server.

5) Read Size – read wird size of word unit = 1 ~ 128.

 

Read schedule example)

Digital input/output card of FARA-N PLUS PLC consists of  1 word per 16 channel, but analog input card have 2 word data that real data and channel value.

So you can't read all of the analog input card data at default R memory area.

 

Note) When you want read the data of each analog input card, you should be creat moving data routine from each specified memory to W, M or other memory area at PLC LADDER program

 

If you click the icon  in protocol option part, you can see the dialogue box such as <Figure 2>. you can also set read schedule by using this part.

You can set read schedule by using , , button and listbox of <Figure 2>.

When you click Add button or Edit button in dialogue box of <Figure 2>, dialogue box of <Figure 3> is shown.

 

<Table 1> is memory type and address range of FARA-N PLUS Series PLC.

2. Write settings

You can change the memory values of FARA-N PLUS PLC by using write settings.

 

Digital Write

Digital write setting parameters are as follows:

1)  PORT                     Port no. (0 ~ 255)

2)  STATION               PLC station address = 0~191 or 255.

3)  ADDRESS             Write address of memory area. ( Refer to <Table 1>)

Higher 3 digit = decimal word unit address of  memory type.

lower 1 digit = 0 ~ F, hex-decimal bit position.

4) Extra1                    Memory area for writing =  only R, L, M, K, F memory.

5) Extra2                     Don't care.

 

Write example 1)

PORT:0,  station:1, ADDRESS:012A, Extra1:M  Extra2 :

The setting parameter shown above is an example of bit write for M memory, 12(13th) word, A(11th) bit of FARA-N PLUS PLC connected with 0 port, 1 PLC station address.

 

Write example 2)

PORT:0,  station:1, ADDRESS:1275, Extra1:R  Extra2 :

The setting parameter shown above is an example of bit write for R memory, 127(128th) word, 5(6th) bit of FARA-N PLUS PLC connected with 0 port, 1 PLC station address.

 

Analog Write

Analog write setting parameters are as follows:

1)  PORT                     Port no. (0 ~ 255)

2)  STATION               PLC station address = 0~191 or 255.

3)  ADDRESS            Write decimal word unit address of memory area. ( Refer to <Table 1>)

4) Extra1                    Memory area for writing =  R, L, M, K, F, W, TS, TC, S memory.

5) Extra2                     Don't care.

 

Write example 1)

PORT:0,  station:1, ADDRESS:0036 Extra1:M  Extra2 :

The setting parameter shown above is an example of word write for M memory, 36(37th) word of FARA-N PLUS PLC connected with 0 port, 1 PLC station address.

 

Write example 2)

PORT:0,  station:1, ADDRESS:2047, Extra1:W  Extra2 :

The setting parameter shown above is an example of bit write for W memory, 2047(2048th) word of FARA-N PLUS PLC connected with 0 port, 1 PLC station address.

 

Note) You can read and write by using 'Absolute address' based on the 'R' memory.  ( Refer to 'Absolute address' of <Table 1>)

Example ) M0000 = R0192,

       W0000 = R0512.

 

3. connection of  main power and communication cable

Connection of main power and communication cable are as follows.

 

Connection of main power

Please connect 100 ~ 240V AC main power to main power connector to FARA-N PLUS PLC such as <Figure 4>.

 Connection of communication cable

Please connect RS-232C communication cable to 9 pin RS-232C connector such as <Figur 5>.

Dip switch setting

Dip switch of FARA-N PLUS PLC can set such <Table 2>.
